Top tip for a first-time skier: "If you don't fall over, you're not trying hard enough! Eat some snow, get back up, and go again!"
If I only had 4 days to go skiing: Val d'Isere. "Fab mix of challenging runs and off-piste, and the vast 300km Espace Killy on your doorstep."

Best beginner resort: Tignes. "I grew up skiing here - couldn't recommend it more. It's snow-sure, lively, and its beginner slopes are excellent."

My best family ski holiday: Flaine. "Recently went with my brother and dad - you can virtually fall out of bed and be skiing on the Grand Massif!"

My best family ski holiday: La Plagne. "Lots of wide greens and blues perfect for first trips, and heaps of peachy off-piste close to the slopes."
Top tip for a first-time skier: "Go snowboarding instead! We do board hire and lessons."
